We ve had 2 children pass all the way through the UCF school system. We also have a younger child currently in Unionville Elementary. I do not have high enough praise for the staff, schools and the district. Sure, it has many demographic advantages, but having seen the end results (not just my children) I can t imagine a better place to provide a great education, balanced with extra-curricular activities and family life. Children are stretched, but in a supportive environment. Our 2 older children have found the transition to college easy, given their experiences in UCF. Work will now take us away from the area. I doubt we will find another school system that will match what we re leaving.

My children started here 5 years ago. Mr. Beaver, the principal, is wonderful and very involved, he is very approachable to both the parents and the students. The teachers here really care, I have not heard any negative comments. Parents are very involved and volunteer throughout the year. The students are genuinely nice and the school has many programs to keep the students involved with the community. Students are not only taught book smarts but also how to be a good citizen. We love it here!

We moved to this area from out of state and we were astounded at the warm welcome we received. It is very well organized for incoming students. My child was paired with another child and given an orientation and a folder full of useful information. As new residents, the school gave us a helpful directory with local information and phone numbers. We have moved several times and my child told me this was the best place, as the students were super to him and the teachers were nice. The curriculum so far has been great.

I have had 2 children attend here. Both children have raved about how great their teachers are and how nice the other students are. The school does a great job with building character in the students and there are many opportunities for the students to get involved and volunteer their time and effort into the community. Parents are welcomed to get involved. It would be nice if the elementary school would have the same system as the middle school for checking your child's assignments, however the teachers are quick to respond if you have questions. Each child has an agenda and is taught to write down the days lessons.

In my opinion this school needs to focus more on children that are not in the 'middle.' In my opinion, the Kindergarten should be a full day not a half day. In my opinion, the pre-first program should be abolished and more teachers should be hired for 1st grade.

We had the opposite experience with Unionville Elementary. We experienced academics taught in a traditional fashion, whereas the students are passive participants. The curriculum did not seem to bridge the classroom with the real world. There was little if any integration of skills learned from specialty areas applied to the classroom. In addition, technology was under utilized by both students and teachers. After our experience, we look at school rankings much differently, we look at the socio-economic make-up of a District to better gage the quality of the curriculum and the teachers. When a District has a more diverse socio-economic make-up and they have earned high marks, we feel that suggests that the teachers are doing an outstanding job to reach all children.

We moved to the Unionville-Chadds Ford School district because of the school reputation. It lived up to our expectations and more! We have had our children in Unionville Elementary School for 2.5 years and it has been amazing! The academics are unsurpassed, the principal is great and the teachers are excellent and very compassionate. The school system is run like a fortune-500 company, everything is organized, and the teachers and students have the tools and resources they need to succeed! We recently moved out of the State and we are seriously wondering whether to move back because the schools are so good. If you want a place where everyone feels welcome, safe, and supported so that they can reach their fullest potential...Unionville Elementary is the answer!

All three of my children attended Unionville Elementary and was very pleased with the quality of teachers. Their pre-first program really enabled my son to progress much better as years went on. Now he is in college as are my other two.
